He served in various units during Korea and the Vietnam conflict. Duty stations included Austria, Italy, France, Saudi Arabia and Viet Nam. After retiring he worked as a manager for various banks until 1982 when he became a real estate appraiser. He retired in 1993.1 He died on 17 February 2009 at Sacramento, Sacramento County, California, at age 85.2

     Harry Abraham McMullen was born on 12 February 1909 at Akron, Summit County, Ohio.3,4,5 He was the son of Anderson James McMullen and Catherine "Katie" Elizabeth Stark.6 Harry Abraham McMullen married Hazel Bramlet on 30 November 1933. Harry Abraham McMullen died on 25 August 1935 at at home, 736 Kepler Court, Akron, Summit County, Ohio, at age 26.4,2 His obituary reads as follows: "Services for Harry McMullen, well-known Akron athlete, were held today at the Main Street M. E. Church, with the Rev. E. M. Lewis officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mr. McMullen, who was 26, died Sunday at his home, 736 Kepler court. He had lived all his life in Akron, graduating from Lane School and South High School, where he was prominent in athletics. For the past six years he was one of Akron's leading softball pitchers. He pitched for Henry Perkins Lodge in the Masonic League, the mechanical goods team in the Goodrich League, for the Miller Tire team, Shriber-Schroth's in the city league, and for th Syrian A. C. He pitched the Goodrich All-Star team to the city pennant in 1932. He was prominent in Main Street M. E. Church activities. He coached church athletic teams and captained the bowling team which won the interdenominational league championship. He had worked at Goodrich since his graduation from high school and was a foreman in the mechanical goods division. Surviving are his wife, Hazel; his parents, three sisters and a brother."2 He was buried at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron, Summit County, Ohio.4
