Mr. Chaffee is survived by his wife Ruby; two sons Robert and Albert Chaffee both of Jackson; one daughter Mrs. Charles (Jean) Kulchinski of Ypsilanti; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two brothers, Lafeyette Chaffee of Louisville, Ky., Albert Chaffee of Erie, Pa; one half brother Roscoe Litchard of Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Alberta) Yates of Jackson and Mrs. Eunice Hill; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Chaffee was retired from Mechanical Products and had made his home in Florida for several years. Mr. Chaffee is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:00 a.m. Interment Roseland Cemetery. The Reverend Robert Haldane Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m."5

Born September 3, 1923, in Pennsylvania, Jean grew up in Jackson. She served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. After the war, she came back to Jackson to meet and marry her husband of more than 56 years, Chuck Kulchinski. Jean was a homemaker who enjoyed astrology, bingo, travelling and collecting dolls. She was very proud of the fact that she was from a Marine Corps family as both she and her husband and her two sons, all proudly served in The Corps. Predeceased by her husband and son, Patrick. She is survived by her son, Mike and his wife, Kathy; brother, Bob Chaffee; grandchildren, Megan and Jim O'Dowd, Steve Kulchinski, Caitlin Wykoff, all of Jackson, Casey and Lindsay Wykoff of 29 Palms, CA; and great-grandchildren, Brendan and Allison O'Dowd, also of Jackson; and good friends, Del and Betty Losey. Mrs Kulchinski is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m. Interment Roseland Memorial Gardens."4
