She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Ernest; two daughters, Marilyn (John) Ridenour of Vandercook Lake, Mich., Barbara (Duane) Mitchell of Reading, Mich; one son, Clair (Kathryn) VanZandt of Gorham, Maine; two sisters, Martha E. Tygh, Marian E. Tygh both of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Debra (Mark) Bates, Carrie (Alan) Tinsley, Vonnie (Steven) Lammers, Michael and Scott Mitchell, Tygh, Tod, and Kyle VanZandt; three great-grandchildren, Erin and Bradley Bates and Nicholas Lammers. Ethel was a member of the Westwood Church of God for sixty-four years where whe taught Sunday School for many years. Services will be held at the Wetherby Chapel Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Bill Kimbel officiating. Interment Roseland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friends who wish may make contributions to the Westwood Church of God."

Kapff.4 Emma May VanZandt died on 19 March 2000 at Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, at age 93.5,6 Her obituary read, "Kapff, Emma Mae Unger - Of Jackson, passed away March 19, 2000, aged 93. Survived by three children, Loretta (George) Clark of Florida, Bud Unger of Jackson and Eddie Kapff of Jackson; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister. She was preceded in death by a son, Calvin Unger in February of 2000. She was a member of the Church of God and always had her arms open to anyone in need. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. Burial Roseland Cemetery.
