     Mary Lodema Rowe was born on 28 March 1911 at Paulding, Paulding County, Ohio.1 She was the daughter of Edward A. Rowe and Bertha E. Carr.1,2 Mary Lodema Rowe married Lewis Edward VanZandt, son of William Wesley VanZandt and Daisy Estella Chupp, on 25 December 1928 at Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan.1,3 Mary Lodema Rowe and Lewis Edward VanZandt were divorced circa 1952 and neither remarried.4 Mary Lodema Rowe died on 18 May 2004 at Odd Fellow and Rebekah Home, Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, at age 93.5 She was buried at Roseland Memorial Gardens, Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan.5,6 Her obituary read, "VanZandt, Mary Lodema - Aged 93, of Jackson, passed away May 18, 2004, while under the tender care of the staff at the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; and one son, Lewis Duane. Surviving are her son, Jack (Jacque) VanZandt of Jackson; daughter-in-law, Emma VanZandt of Florence, KY; sister, Blanche Bruen of Manitou Beach; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Betty (Dean) Somervill; and special friend, Gertrude Snow. She was a retiree of City Bank and a member of the Michigan Center Bible Church. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 21, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor John Tovey officiating. Interment Roseland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. For those who wish, contributions to the Michigan Center Bible Church or Heartland Hospice would be appreciated.5
