     Jeannette Violet Smith was born on 19 February 1910 at Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa.¹ She was the daughter of Byron Smith and Ada Louise Fishel.¹ Jeannette Violet Smith married Harold Thomas Lundy on 26 March 1929 at Newton, Jasper County, Iowa.² Jeannette Violet Smith married Clarence William Straub, son of Albert Melvin Straub and Anna Rebecca Imel, on 23 January 1936.¹ Jeannette Violet Smith died on 7 May 1996 at Chadwick, Carroll County, Illinois, at age 86.¹

Straub married Eleanor Daisy Marie Johnson, daughter of Esper Johnson and Alma Emma Williamson, on 20 May 1933.² LaVerne M. Straub died on 10 August 1999 at Lanark, Carroll County, Illinois, at age 85.¹

     Mildred Addie Straub was born on 20 August 1919 at Fair Haven Township, Carroll County, Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Albert Melvin Straub and Anna Rebecca Imel.¹ Mildred Addie Straub married Claude W. Mechling, son of Daniel Mechling and Prudence Adeline Escott.² Mildred Addie Straub died on 21 March 2001 at Chadwick, Carroll County, Illinois, at age 81.¹

     LaVerne Mae McNitt was born on 23 August 1910 at Sterling, Whiteside County, Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Henry McNitt and Hazel Alice Bartlett.¹ LaVerne Mae McNitt married Elwood James Bushman, son of Aaron Truman Bushman and Nora Lucretia Imel, on 23 October 1930 at Dixon, Lee County, Illinois.¹ LaVerne Mae McNitt died on 27 April 1973 at Lancaster, Los Angeles County, California, at age 62.¹

     Charles Henry McNitt was born on 21 May 1888 at Illinois.¹ He died on 17 September 1951 at Illinois at age 63.¹

     Hazel Alice Bartlett was born on 31 October 1889 at Illinois.¹ She died on 15 October 1982 at Illinois at age 92.¹

     Angeline Imel was born circa 1928 at Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Howard Orlando Imel and Beulah Viola Kness.¹

     Kathleen Alice Imel was born on 3 June 1934 at Chadwick, Carroll County, Illinois.² She was the daughter of Howard Orlando Imel and Beulah Viola Kness.¹ Kathleen Alice Imel married William Hobart Burch Jr., son of William Hobart Burch and Agnes McCord Irwin, on 9 June 1959 at Henderson County, North Carolina.¹ Kathleen Alice Imel died on 20 October 2015 at Weaverville, Buncombe County, North Carolina, at age 81.² Her obituary read, "Kathleen Alice Imel Burch, 81, of Lake Lure, NC, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015. Mrs. Burch was a daughter of the late Howard and Beulah Imel of Mount Caroll, IL. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William H. Burch of Lake Lure, NC, daughter, Patty Lee Burch Hass, son, William Scott Burch, and by three brothers. She came to the Hickory Nut Gorge area in 1957 as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration in Bat Cave. She served the church in many ways throughout her life. She was an Associate Sister to the Convent of Transfiguration. She was a volunteer in many organizations in the Hickory Nut Gorge area, including Lake Lure Zoning, Lake Lure Volunteer Fire Department, Hickory Nut Gorge EMS, Lake Lure community club, and the Lake Lure Ski Club. Mrs. Burch is survived by two daughters, Robin Elaine Burch Parton of Rutherfordton and Kathleen Jo Burch Marple of Weaverville, NC; four granddaughters, Christina Elaine Jones of Thomasville, NC, Angela Robin Darling of Asheville, Cynthia Denise Ragsdale of Asheville, and Kayla Rae Marple of Weaverville, NC; and three great-granddaughters, Ainsley and Rachael Jones and Joanna Grace Darling. She always took great delight in her children, grand and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Angeline Wernet, and brothers Lyle "Butch" Imel (Linda), Larry Imel (Janet), and Gary Imel (Vickie).
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Church of the Transfiguration in Bat Cave, with the Rev. Fr. Robert Mugan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church."³

     William Hobart Burch Jr. was born on 5 July 1923 at Fowler, Meade County, Kansas.¹ He was the son of William Hobart Burch and Agnes McCord Irwin.¹ William Hobart Burch Jr. married Kathleen Alice Imel, daughter of Howard Orlando Imel and Beulah Viola Kness, on 9 June 1959 at Henderson County, North Carolina.² William Hobart Burch Jr. died on 8 April 2014 at Lake Lure, Rutherford County, North Carolina, at age 90.¹
