     Nelson Arthur Overdorff was born on 9 September 1857 at Brush Valley Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Jacob Sentz Overdorff Jr. and Maria Agnes McNutt.1 Nelson Arthur Overdorff married Anna Eliza Reisinger, daughter of Peter Schmahl Reisinger and Eleanor Croffert Lapsley, on 8 May 1883 at Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania.1 Nelson Arthur Overdorff died on 30 July 1941 at Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, at age 83.1 His obituary read, "Nelson A. Overdorf, 83, a native of Brush Valley, died of a heart attack at the counter of the Johnstown restaurant yesterday morning just after finishing his breakfast. An investigation was made by Deputy John Strank of the Johnstown Borough Police. He was born in Brush Valley September 9, 1857, the son of Jacob and Marie (McNutt) Overdorf. He moved to Johnstown at an early age and worked as a pattern-maker for the Lorain Steel Company for over 16 years. Later he entered the contracting business in West Philadelphia before retiring nine years ago. Since his retirement he has been spending his time in Johnstown and Philadelphia. His wife, the former Anna Eliza Reisinger, died many years ago. He had been in Johnstown for two months prior to his death.
The deceased is survived by five children, Dr. Don S. Overdorf of Lancing Mich., Mrs. William Roberts of San Francisco, Attorney Eliot E. Overdorf of Lake Forest, Ill. and Nellie Ruth Overdorf of Johnstown. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 Saturday afternoon at the H.M. Picking and Son Funeral Home in Johnstown. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery."2 He was buried at Grandview Cemetery, Southmont, Cambria County, Pennsylvania.2
