Elizabeth Taylor married James McNees, son of William McNees and Jane McCormick, circa 1800 at Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.² Elizabeth Taylor died on 17 March 1847 at Worth Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, at age 70.² She was buried at Plain Grove Presbyterian Cemetery, Plain Grove, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.²

     Jane McNees was born on 20 June 1801 at Worth Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.¹ She was the daughter of James McNees and Elizabeth Taylor.¹ Jane McNees married James Hunter, son of Ephraim Hunter.¹

     Alice McNees was born on 10 March 1803 at Worth Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.^1,2 She was the daughter of James McNees and Elizabeth Taylor.^1,2 Alice McNees married John Kelly, son of Jonathan Kelly and Nancy Agnes Taylor.^1,2 Alice McNees and John Kelly were first cousins as Taylors as Alice's mother Elizabeth and John's mother Nancy were sisters, both being daughters of Thomas Taylor and Alyce Cahill.² Alice McNees died on 15 September 1883 at age 80.^1,2 She was buried at Plain Grove Presbyterian Cemetery, Plain Grove, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.^1,2

     John Taylor McNees was born on 24 March 1805 at Worth Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.² He was the son of James McNees and Elizabeth Taylor.² John Taylor McNees married first Elizabeth Cooper, daughter of Zebulon S. Cooper and Sara Bean Bane.² John Taylor McNees married second Eliza Beaty after August 1842.² John Taylor McNees had four sons by his second wife, all of whom left Butler County after their father and mother went south after the civil war. Going south was quite popular due to much cheaper land and the warmer climate but a great many returned or went west due to attention from the KKK. The men were in favor of riding it out but the women banded together and gave their husbands three choices: 1) go back home, 2) go west, or 3) they could stay but the wives would take the children and return to Pennsylvania. John Taylor's son, John Scott, went back north but chose to go to Ohio.² He died on 1 December 1885 at Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania, at age 80.³ He was buried at Fletcher Cemetery, Bruin, Butler County, Pennsylvania.

     Lydia Elizabeth McNees was born on 15 May 1807 at Worth Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.² She was the daughter of James McNees and Elizabeth Taylor.² Lydia Elizabeth McNees married Robert Stewart on 16 October 1828 at Worth Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.² Lydia Elizabeth McNees died on 15 September 1890 at Penn Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, at age 83.² She was buried at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Whitestown, Butler County, Pennsylvania.⁴

Nebo Cemetery, Whitestown, Butler County, Pennsylvania.²

     James McNees was born on 27 May 1812 at Worth Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.^1,2 He was the son of James McNees and Elizabeth Taylor.^1,2 James McNees married Elizabeth Esther Anderson, daughter of Joseph Alexander Anderson and Martha Caldwell, on 8 January 1835.^1,2 James McNees married Sarah Armstrong, daughter of George Armstrong and Elizabeth McCune.^1,2 James took his family and went south after the civil war. He bought a plantation close to McMinnville, Tennessee but the KKK was very active in the area and Northerners were not welcome. The women would not stay so James and all of the family except James Alexander McNees came back to near Girty, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.^1,2 James McNees died on 1 January 1896 at Girty, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, at age 83.^1,2 He was buried at Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Girty, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.^1,2

     Mary Taylor "Polly" McNees was born on 14 March 1815 at Worth Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.² She was the daughter of James McNees and Elizabeth Taylor.² Mary Taylor "Polly" McNees married Abner Crossman Hill.² Mary Taylor "Polly" McNees died on 12 March 1896 at Vineland, Douglas County, Kansas, at age 80.³
