     Ova Eugene VanZant was born on 9 November 1911 at North Union, Highland County, Ohio.2 He was the son of Starling Overton VanZant and Sarah Ella Greenfield.1 Ova Eugene VanZant married Ruby Belle Winters, daughter of Clyde Ellsworth Winters and Nancy Ellen Mullenix, on 23 March 1930 at Highland County, Ohio.3 Ova Eugene VanZant married Lora May Kier, daughter of Charles E. Kier and Mary Belle Lance, on 12 October 1936 at Louisville, Edmonson County, Kentucky.4 Ova Eugene VanZant died on 15 March 1968 at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Mariemont, Hamilton County, Ohio, at age 56.1 His obituary read, "Train Crash Injuries Fatal, County Navive Dies Friday, Rites Tuesday - Ova E. Vanzant, 56, a native of Highland County, died Friday at 6:55 P. M. at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Mariemont, of injuries suffered March 6 when his auto was struck by a Norfolk & Western Railway freight train at the Third Street crossing in Williamsburg, Clermont County. He resided at 256 Walnut Street, Williamsburg. Vanzant was hurled from the car by the impact and landed on the road 25 feet away. He suffered severe head injuries. The train carried the car 75 feet. Railway signal lights at the crossing were operating, police said. Vanzant was born in Highland County on Nov. 9, 1911, the son of Starley Vanzant and Sarah Greenfield Vanzant. His father survives but his mother preceded him in death. He had been employed in recent years at the Globe-Wernedke plant in Cincinnati. He is survived by his wife, the former Lora May Kier, Williamsburg; one son, Lonnie E. Vanzant, Cincinnati, and two grandchildren, Jerry and Brian Vanzant, Cincinnati. Services will be held Tuesday at 1 P. M. at the Maham Funeral Home in Williamsburg, with furial following in Prospect Cemetery, south of Hillsboro."1
