     Kenneth Neil Ellegood was born on 30 September 1935 at Monument Township, Logan County, Kansas.1 He was the son of Robert D. Ellegood and Alice G. Everly.1 Kenneth Neil Ellegood died on 1 October 2015 at Osborne County, Kansas, at age 80.1 His obituary read, "Kenneth Neil Ellegood, 80, died on October 01, 2015, at his home in rural Osborne county after a long battle with cancer. He was born August 30, 1935, the son of Robert and Alice (Everley) Ellegood at Monument Kansas. Kenneth graduated from Oakley High School in 1954. He then attended Kansas State University and transferred Fort Hays State University. During this time he served in the Army for two years, 1958-1959. He then returned to Fort Hays State and graduated in 1962 with his Bachelors degree. After graduation he started his career teaching and coaching at Stockton, Kansas. He started the wrestling program there. He then completed his Masters in counseling at Fort Hays State University in May 1969. He then moved on to be a counselor at Abe Hubert Junior High and finished his teaching career at Kenneth Henderson Middle School in Garden City, Kansas. He retired from there in 1994 and moved back to his other love, farming, in Osborne County, Kansas. His greatest love was working with children. As a counselor and a teacher. He touched many lives. His favorite past time was spending time with all of his children and grand children. Nothing brought more joy than watching all of them participate in the many activities throughout the years. He especially had a passion for wrestling and was regularly seen encouraging all that would listen. On June 2, 1963, he married Beverly Elaine Winder, she survives. Other survivors include: sons, Tate Ellegood (Barb) of Hays, Kansas, Michael Ellegood (Ginger) of Hutchinson, Kansas, Robbie Ellegood of Ellsworth, Kansas, Myron Ellegood (Sarah) of Great Bend, Kansas; daughter, Lisa Schroeder (Steve) of Russell, Kansas; Honorary son, Steve Winder (Pam), brothers, Keith Ellegood (Lou) of Oakley, Kansas, Ben Ellegood (Donnette) of Oakley Kansas, Wayne Winder (Rogene) of Viola, Kansas. Eleven grandchildren Megan, Brooke, Katie, Kyle, Dodge, Dixie, Cole, Shelby, Cassie, Micah, David. He was preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Alice Ellegood, and Infant son; Kenton Wayne Ellegood.
Celebration of Kenneth’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, October 5, 2015 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday at the Oakley Cemetery in Oakley, Kansas."1
