     Emelene Frances Waldeck was born on 12 February 1923 at Roane County, West Virginia.¹ She was the daughter of Orland Franklin Waldeck and Pearl M. Miller.¹ Emelene Frances Waldeck married Robert Lowe McKown, son of Harley Dillion McKown and Mary Alpha Lowe, in 1946 at Roane County, West Virginia.¹ Emelene Frances Waldeck died on 28 January 2002 at Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia, at age 78.¹ Her obituary read, "Emelene Waldeck McKown, 78, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at City Hospital.
Born Feb. 12, 1923, in Spencer, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Orland Franklin and Pearl Miller Waldeck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. "Bob" McKown. She retired from Rosemont Elementary School in 1989. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly McKown-Strait of Bridgeton, N.J; a son, Todd McKown of Snowshoe, W.Va; and three grandchildren, Taylor Robert, Reid Oliver and Avery Elizabeth Strait. She was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Waldeck. Services and burial will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg."² She was buried at Eventide Cemetery, Spencer, Roane County, West Virginia.²
