Cox, in 1931 at Roane County, West Virginia.1 Pauline Hazel Pence died on 6 December 2006 at Spencer, Roane County, West Virginia, at age 94.1 Her obituary read, "Pauline Hazel Pence Harlow, 94, of Spencer, W.Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006. Born May 16, 1912, she was the daughter of Roy R. and Dulcie McKown Pence. She married Paul E. Harlow on Dec. 24, 1931, and had two sons, Gordon (Jackie) Harlow of Point Pleasant, W.Va., and Richard (Ethel) Harlow of Spencer. Pauline has one grandson, Michael Harlow of Point Pleasant; and four granddaughters, Kathy (Gary) Dunn of Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va., Sue Harlow of Vienna, Kimberly (Sean) Simon of Spencer and Debra (Henry) Gittleman of Canberra, Australia. She has seven great-grandchildren, Laura Winston, Natalie Dunn, Stephen Dunn, Eric Gittleman, Aaron Simon, Joshua Gittleman and Garrett Simon. She also has four great-great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Winston, Kayleigh Winston, Rachael Dunn and Shannon Dunn. She also had many nieces and nephews. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dulcie Pence; her husband, Paul Harlow; a sister, Kathleen Young; and a brother, Emerson (Hank) Pence.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Eventide Cemetery in Spencer with the Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. There will be no visitation. The family suggests donations to the Roane General Hospital SNF Unit, 200 Hospital Drive, Spencer, WV 25276. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements."2 She was buried at Eventide Cemetery, Spencer, Roane County, West Virginia.2
