Worcester, 95. of Wellington, died Monday morning at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin, after a long illness. Mrs. Worcester was born in Johnstown, Pa. She had lived in Wellington for the past 45 years, moving there from Elyria.
She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Pointer and
Mrs. Ann (Betty) Bochus of Wellington; a son, Thomas Doan
of Venice, Fla; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood Doan,
and her second husband, Roy Worcester."5

Mary was enjoying life, attended school Monday and Tuesday of last week, but was taken seriously ill Tuesday evening. She was removed to the hospital Thursday evening where all was done that skilled surgeons could do to alleviate suffering, but all to no avail. She recovered from the effects of the anesthetic and conversed cheerfully with loved ones Friday evening, but Saturday morning she became worse and passed peacefully to rest at 9:00 o'clock. She was a member of the Life Certificate Class of Emporia State Normal - was very much interested in her school work and participated in all its activities. Mary had always taken great interest in the work of the Sunday School and Epworth League. In early childhood she joined the Methodist Episcopal Church and ever remained a faithful member. She had many traits of character that endeared her to loved ones and friends."2 She was buried at Delphos Cemetery, Sheridan Township, Ottawa County, Kansas.2
