Charles F. Brooks1

M, b. 9 January 1857, d. 1 December 1929
     Charles F. Brooks was born on 9 January 1857 at Carroll County, Ohio.2 He was the son of Thomas F. Brooks and Elizabeth Crozier.2 Charles F. Brooks married Caroline McNutt, daughter of Samuel Wakefield McNutt and Catherine Jamison, on 6 June 1912 at Carroll County, Ohio.3 Charles F. Brooks died on 1 December 1929 at Massillon, Stark County, Ohio, at age 72.2 His obituary read, "Charles F. Brooks died December 1 in the Massillon State Hospital from a complication after receiving a stroke some time ago. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church in Carrollton and burial made in Scott's Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services were in charge of Rev. Messrs. Lewis and Herron.
Mr. Brooks was born in Union Township on January 9, 1857, his parents being Thomas and Elizabeth (Crozier) Brooks. Most of his life was spent on his farm in Union Township. Later he moved to Carrollton, still later to Canton.
In 1881 he married Sarah I. Scott, a daughter of Wilson and Elizabeth Scott, two children, May and Anson being born to them. She died in 1887. His second wife was a Miss Rutledge, who died in 1910. In 1912 he married Carrie McNutt, who survives.
Mr. Brooks was the fourth of a family of six children, the only survivor being a sister, Mrs. James Tripp. Two children also survive, Mrs. Frank Williman of Canton and Anson Brooks of Carrollton."2
