Black.1,2 John Harlan Dickey married first Lillian Pearl McNees, daughter of James Warren McNees and Mary Catherine Sloan, on 6 June 1906 at Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania.1,2 John Harlan Dickey married second Anna Taylor Hogue.1 John Harlan Dickey died on 17 August 1961 at Harrisville, Butler County, Pennsylvania, at age 75.1,2 His obituary read, "John Harlan Dickey, 73, of Harrisville, died this morning in Torrance Hospital, Blairsville. Death was due to infirmities of age. Born May 3, 1888 in Washington Township, Butler County, Mr. Dickey was a son of Joseph and Martha Black Dickey. A former resident of Boyers area, Mr. Dickey lived in Harrisville for 15 years. He retired 10 years ago from Michigan Limestone Company, Division of United States Steel Corportation. He was a member of Harrisville Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillie McNeese Dickey, who died 13 years ago. Surviving are his wife, Anna Taylor Dickey; four daughters, Mrs. Albert (Violet) Stoops, Bouers R.D. 1; Mrs. Howard (Katherine) Smith, Ridgeway; Mrs. Howard (Mae) Cameron, Cleveland, Ohio; and Mrs. Charles (Hazel) Richardson, Tampa, Tex; also three step-daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Gladys) Hassler, Conoquenessing; Mrs. George (Imogene) McDougall, Ellwood City; and Mrs. Roy (Hester) Osborne, Grove City; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Henderson, Grove City, and Mrs. Lillie McJunkin, Pittsburgh."1 He was buried at Prairie Cemetery (now Harrisville Prairie Cemetery), Harrisville, Butler County, Pennsylvania.1
