     Robert Ralph Palmer was born on 1 May 1826 at New York.2,3,4 He was the son of Stephen Palmer and Fanny u.5 Robert Ralph Palmer married first Eliza Melvina Boardman, daughter of Levi Boardman and Minerva Monroe, on 1 July 1847.5,4 Robert Ralph Palmer married second Elizabeth Vrooman, daughter of Simon Vrooman and Tina Burroughs, before 1865.5 Robert Ralph Palmer died on 24 March 1882 at Titusville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, at age 55.3 His obituary read, "Death of R. R. Palmer, of this City, in His 56th Year. Mr. Robert R. Palmer died at his residence on South Franklin street on Friday evening, March 24th, of typhoid malarial fever, in the 56th year of his age. He was a native of Pensylvania, and had lived at or near Titusville for many years past. Long before oil was discovered, Mr. Palmer worked at the shoemaker trade here, and bought his leather of Hon. William Barnsdall, who then had a tannery near the spot where Brace Bros. Laundry recently stood. Latterly Mr. Palmer had been in the employ of Granger & Co. He leaves a wife and three children. His funeral will be held this afternoon, at three o'clock, from the family residence. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery."5 He was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Titusville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.5

     Emma Jane Lewis was born on 11 March 1895 at South Shenango Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.2 She was the daughter of William John Lewis and Nancy Elizabeth "Bessie" McCalmont.1 Emma Jane Lewis married Ralph William Palmer, son of John Lawrence Palmer and Ollie Alvina Manning, on 29 May 1916 at Mercer County, Pennsylvania.3 Emma Jane Lewis died on 29 September 1995 at Springs Manor Nursing Home, Cambridge Springs, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, at age 100.2 Her obituary read, "Emma Jane Palmer, 100, a resident of Springs Manor Nursing Home of Cambridge Springs since 1989, formerly of 1120 Market St., Meadville, died Friday, Sept. 29, 1995, at the nursing home. She was born in South Shenango Township, March 11, 1895, a daughter of William and Bessie McCalmont Lewis. She married Ralph W. Palmer, May 29, 1918. He preceded her in death, April 11, 1973. She had been a homemaker and was of the Protestant faith. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Les (Arlene Flaugh) Ketchum of Meadville, Mrs. Forrest (Paulene) Roberts of Greenville and Mrs. James (Shirley) Cleland of Aliquippa; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Abbondanza of Meadville. She was preceded in death by a son, William Palmer, a sister, Mary Clifford, and a grandson. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Robert W. Ward Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. A funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Scott of Grace United Methodist Church officiating."1
