Samuel Asbury McNutt1

     Samuel Asbury McNutt was born on 22 January 1836 at Armagh, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of James McNutt Sr. and Margaret Devlin.1,3,4 Samuel Asbury McNutt was shot through both wrists and arms at Gettysburg in 1863.1 He married Sarah Catherine Killen, daughter of Robert Killen and Sarah Easton.5 Samuel Asbury McNutt died on 16 July 1919 at New Florence, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at age 83.6,7 His obituary read, "Samuel McNutt, aged 84 years, a Civil War veteran, one of the oldest and best-known residents of this community, died at his home last evening after a lingering illness, having suffered three strokes. He is survived by his widow and two sons, James and Edward, both at home. During the Civil War, he served as a member of Company H, 12th Pennsylvania Reserve Volunteer Corps. Funeral services will be held from the late residence at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Internment will be made in the Armagh Cemetery. The body has been prepared for burial by Undertaker W. S. Clarke, The deceased was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church."7 He was buried at Armagh Cemetery, Armagh, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.7

She had been a semi-invalid for seven years. Born in Cleveland, Mrs. Jeppesen lived in Chicago 45 years, moving to Cuyahoga Falls seven years ago. She leaves two sons, Gordon L. and Norman L., both of Cuyahoga Falls, and two grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Billow Memorial Chapel, the Rev. William H. Dudley officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The body will be cremated."
