Weir and Emma Ellen Rhoades, on 6 February 1947 at Dorset Township, Ashtabula County, Ohio.1 Margaret Jane Harmon died on 7 August 2015 at her daughter's home, Jefferson Township, Ashtabula County, Ohio, at age 94.1 Her obituary read, "Margaret Jane Weir, age 94, of Merry Dr., Plymouth Township, died Friday afternoon, August 7, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Jefferson Township. She was born July 27, 1921, in Cleveland, the daughter of Clyde and Sadie (Bungard) Harmon and had lived in Ashtabula County most of her life. She married Gordon E. Weir on Feb. 6, 1947, in Dorset Township. Mrs. Weir was a 1978 retired employee of Reliance Electric Corp. Following her retirement, she was an independent caretaker for the elderly. She was a member of the former Harris Memorial Presbyterian Church and her interests were gardening and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Heidi (Edwin) Friedrich of Jefferson; three grandchildren, Todd, Kevin and Kendra Morris, all of Ashtabula; three great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Kyle Long and their father, Joseph Long, and Lanah Hatfield; and a brother, Richard Harmon of Madison. She also leaves a very special friend whom she treated as her own daughter, Margaret E. (Jim) Hood of Ashtabula. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon in 1986; and seven siblings.
Graveside Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Dorset Cemetery, with Pastor Gifford Baker officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family, in care of Heidi Friedrich, 1792 Netcher Road, Jefferson, Ohio 44047.
