     Edna May Clevenger was born on 4 January 1911 at Ray County, Missouri.1 She was the daughter of John George Clevenger and Anna May Mellon.1 Edna May Clevenger married William Howard Holman, son of Hardy Holman and Bertha Louise Southwick, on 2 November 1929.1 Edna May Clevenger died on 8 January 2014 at Richmond, Ray County, Missouri, at age 103.1 Her obituary read, "Edna May Holman, 103, Lawson, Mo., passed away January 8, 2014. Edna was born in rural Lawson, Mo., on January 4, 1911 to Anna (Mellon) Clevenger and Johnnie G. Clevenger. She was the oldest of eight children. She married Howard Holman on November 2, 1929. They had two children, James Ross Holman and Anna Louise (Holman) Maddux. Edna was a homemaker and lived on the Holman family farm until she was 101. Edna was an avid gardener and raised cattle, hogs, and chickens with Howard. Edna was a member of the Canaan Hill Church of the Nazarene where she was Sunday School Superintendent, church secretary and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of The Extension Club. Survivors include her son, James Ross Holman, and daughter, Anna Louise Maddux, nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 27 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, her parents, four sisters and three brothers. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Canaan Hill Church Of The Nazarene, Lawson, Mo., with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery, Lawson, Mo. The family suggests memorial contributions to the church. Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs."1 She was buried at Old Union Cemetery, Polk Township, Ray County, Missouri.1

     James Ross Holman was born on 24 July 1932 at Lawson, Ray County, Missouri.1 He was the son of William Howard Holman and Edna May Clevenger.1 James Ross Holman married Ruby Nadine Seely, daughter of William James Seely and Helen L. Ray, on 13 June 1953 at Liberty, Clay County, Missouri.1 James Ross Holman died on 31 July 2015 at Missouri Veterans Home, Cameron, Clinton County, Missouri, at age 83.1 His obituary read, "James Ross Holman, 83, Rockaway Beach, Mo., formerly of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Mo.
Jim, known to friends as "Hot Rod Holman", was born July 24, 1932 in Lawson, Mo., the son of Howard and Edna (Clevenger) Holman. He was united in marriage to Ruby Nadine Creason on June 13, 1953 in Liberty, Mo. Jim was a masonry contractor for over 40 years before retiring. He and his wife traveled many winters to Florida making many friends along the way. He loved his family and friends, fishing, the K.C. Royals, and "hot-rodding" on his Harley Davidson. He entered the U.S. Army at Fort Riley, Kans., and served 8 years in the military before being honorably discharged in 1960. In addition to his parents, his wife, Ruby N. Holman preceded him in death on September 11, 2001. Survivors include Paula (Curtis) Keen of Excelsior Springs; Linda (Jerry) Markley of Lexington; Debbie (Bob) West of Excelsior Springs; Rick (Cathie) Holman of Excelsior Springs; Tammy (Mark) Reeves of Sanford, N.C; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his loving sister, Anna Louise Maddux, of Elmira, Mo. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo., with Rev. Phil Riley officiating. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m; funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial at Old Union Cemetery, Lawson, Mo. A heartfelt thanks is given to the staff of Cameron Missouri Veterans Home and Comfort Care Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made in his honor to Cameron Veterans Home Assistance League, 1111 Euclid Avenue, Cameron, Mo. 64429."1 He was buried at Old Union Cemetery, Polk Township, Ray County, Missouri.1

Ruby was born August 31, 1928 in Elmira, MO to William James Seely and Helen L. (Ray) Seely. She had attended elementery school in Excelsior Springs and high school at Manual High in Kansas City, MO. She was united in marriage to James Ross Holman on June 13, 1953 at Liberty, MO. She had lived in Excelsior Springs until moving to Rockaway Beach six years ago. She was a homemaker.
She was amember of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion at Excelsior Springs, MO. She is survived by her husband, James Ross Holman of the home; one son, Rick Holman of Excelsior Springs, MO; four daughters, Pau;a Keen of Excelsior Springs, MO; Debbie West of Excelsior Springs, MO; Linda Markley of Lexington, MO; and Tammy Reeves of Leavenworth, KS; her mother-in-law, Edna Holman of Lawson, MO; two brothers, Bill seely of Pleasant Valley, MO; and Danny Seely of Kirbyville, MO; two sisters, Wilma Hardwick of Branson, MO; and Flora Phillips of Rockaway Beach, MO; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends Friday, September 14 until service time at Prichard Chapel in Excelsior Springs, MO. Funeral services will be at the Prichard Chapel; burial in Old Union Cemetery, southeast of Lawson.
