Violet Ellen Wakefield1

     Violet Ellen Wakefield was born on 4 January 1902 at Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.2 She was the daughter of Edward Brady Wakefield and Nannie Emma Mack.1 Violet Ellen Wakefield married Robert Vivian McNutt, son of Alvin Taylor McNutt and Lucinda Smith, on 25 August 1922 at Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.3,4 Violet Ellen Wakefield died on 12 November 1975 at Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, at age 73.1 Her obituary read, "Violet E. Wakefield, 73, of RD 1 Homer City died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1975, in the Indiana Hospital. A daughter of Edward B. and Nannie Mack Wakefield, she was born Jan. 4, 1902, in Wilkinsburg. Mrs. McNutt was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Homer City. She had lived most of her life in the Brush Valley area. A former school teacher, Mrs.
McNutt had also taught Sunday School for many years. Surviving are her husband, Robert V. McNutt, whom she married Aug. 25, 1922; three sons, The Rev. William E, McNutt, Lander, Wyo;
Clair E. McNutt, RD 1 Homer City, and Lt. Col. Glenn L McNutt, Delaware, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Mack R. Wakefied, Indiana; and a sister, Mrs. Collins (Lillian) Cramer, RD 2 Homer City. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Davis (Helen) Stewart, on Sept. 27, 1940. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today and 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Nov 14, at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where services will
be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov 15, with the Rev. R.R. Merriman officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana."5 She was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, White Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.5

William Edward McNutt1

     William Edward McNutt was born on 20 April 1924 at Homer City, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.2,3 He was the son of Robert Vivian McNutt and Violet Ellen Wakefield.1 William Edward McNutt married Beulah Mae Penrod, daughter of Lowman Malachi Penrod and Nellie Elizabeth Williams, in 1947.4,3 William Edward McNutt died on 10 May 2011 at Canyon, Randall County, Texas, at age 87.3 His obituary read, "William E. McNutt of Canyon, Texas, father of Scot MacNaughton of Lander, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, in Canyon. He was 87. A committal service is held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, with his son, Scott MacNaughton, co-director of "Fathers in the Field," officiating. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Colorado. William E McNutt was born in Homer City, Pa., on
April 20, 1924, the son of Robert and Violet (Wakefield) McNutt. He attained Eagle Scout status in 1943. Mr. McNutt served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He graduated from Penn State University with a master's degree in agricultural Science. Mr. McNutt taught vocational agriculture in Lancaster County, Pa. In 1956, he received the bachelor of divinity degree from Faith Theological Seminary and was ordained as a minister of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. He served as superintendent of the Houston Mission Children's Home in Jackson, KY. Mr. McNutt married Beulah Mae Penrod in 1947 and had six sons and a foster daughter. She preceded
him in death. Survivors include his wife, Dianna L., of the family
home in Canyon, Texas; six sons, Tom and Lois of
Shelocta, Pa., Rob and Sandy of Indiana, Pa., Gary
andKay of Cocoa, Fla., Gerald and Sylvia of Gillette,
Scott and Gail of Lander, and Stan and Marie of
Canyon; foster daughter Gayle Keller of Indiana, Pa;
two brothers, Claire"Rusty" and Audrey of Brushvalley,
Pa., and Glenn and Janice of Debary, Fla; 15 grand-
sons and six granddaughters; numerous great grand-
children.

     Beulah Mae Penrod was born on 8 February 1929 at Indiana County, Pennsylvania.1,2 She was the daughter of Lowman Malachi Penrod and Nellie Elizabeth Williams.2 Beulah Mae Penrod married William Edward McNutt, son of Robert Vivian McNutt and Violet Ellen Wakefield, in 1947.3,4 Beulah Mae Penrod died on 27 January 2005 at Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, at age 75.2 She was buried at Brush Valley Cemetery, Brush Valley, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

     Clair Everett McNutt was born on 30 August 1927 at Brush Valley, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Robert Vivian McNutt and Violet Ellen Wakefield.1 Clair Everett McNutt died on 1 June 2013 at Brush Valley, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, at age 85. His obituary read, "New address notice — Clair Everett “Rusty” McNutt finally moved out of Brush Valley! Having been born and died on the farm, he has now relocated to his eternal home in heaven. Although he has left his old house here on Earth, we know that he is with his new land “Lord.” Friends and family will celebrate his new address from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 100 Ben Franklin Road, Indiana. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Mission to North America for grandson Doug McNutt, 1700 N. Brown Road, Suite 101, Lawrenceville, GA 30043, or World Outreach for grandson Neal McNutt, 691 Furnace St., Robesonia, PA 19551, or the Visiting Nurse Association of Indiana County."
