     Zedock O. Tanner was born on 8 January 1872 at Spencer, Roane County, West Virginia.1 He was the son of Henry Lawson Tanner and Sarah Jane Greathouse.1 Zedock O. Tanner married Leota Myrtle Carpenter, daughter of James Madison Carpenter and Elizabeth Jane Greathouse, on 19 January 1897 at Roane County, West Virginia.1 Zedock O. Tanner married Elza u.2 Zedock O. Tanner died on 27 May 1962 at Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania, at age 90.1
