     Raymond James Teegarden was born on 9 October 1922 at Augusta, Butler County, Kansas.1 He was the son of James David Teegarden and Anna B. Miller.1 Raymond James Teegarden married Almeda Faye Park, daughter of Thomas A. Park and Almeda Abigale Stines.1 Raymond James Teegarden died on 20 February 2014 at Augusta, Butler County, Kansas, at age 91.1 He His obituary read, "Raymond James Teegarden, 91, passed away peacefully in Augusta, on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. As Raymond requested, private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Raymond was born on Oct. 9, 1922, in Augusta, the son of Anna (Miller) and James Teegarden. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1940 and attended Butler County Community College. After joining the U.S. Army, he served in the Flame Throwing Tank Battalion of the Armored Division from 1942 to 1945, participating in the Battle of Okinawa, and later in South Korea. After returning home, he married Faye Park on Aug. 11, 1946, in Pittsburg, Kan. Raymond went to work for Mobil Pipeline Co. and became a products scheduler for 43 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Augusta Rotary Club, Butler County Shrine, and the Augusta Historical Society. He also participated in various community projects, serving a term on the City Council, working with his wife in Girl Scouts, P.T.O., and with elementary children. He enjoyed hosting backyard cookouts and gatherings with his family and friends. His hobby was working with wood and he spent many happy hours building and renovating his home and yard. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Donna Sue (Whitlock) Teegarden. Survivors include his loving family: Faye, his wife of 67 years; two daughters, Susan and Laura Teegarden. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Augusta Historical Society."1
