     Herma I. Matyja was born on 19 February 1926 at Poland.1 She was the daughter of John Matyja and Maria u.1 Herma I. Matyja married George Barnby Jr., son of George Barnby Sr. and Lola May Teegarden.1 Herma I. Matyja died on 10 August 2012 at Sun Lakes, Maricopa County, Arizona, at age 86.1 Her obituary read, "Herma passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on August 10, 2012 at her home in Sun Lakes, AZ. Herma was a beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son Michael Hyduke and wife Mary, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, with husband George Barnby and daughter Debbie Hyduke, predeceased. Herma was one of five children born of Maria and John Matyja in Poland on February 19, 1926. At a young age of 12, she and her younger sister traveled the Atlantic alone to find a safe home in Phoenix, Arizona living with her aunt and escaping the prison camps of WWII where her parents were interned. She quickly adopted Phoenix as her home for 74 years, graduating with a career in nursing from St. Joseph's Hospital and soon meeting her husband, Lee Hyduke in the then small town of Scottsdale, AZ. Herma was a strong and caring person raising 2 children on her own after the early death of her husband, Lee. Upon remarrying to George Barnby, she became adapt in farming and raising cattle, often using her nursing skills to provide the care to a newborn calf or sick cat in need showing a love for all God's creations. She reentered the nursing field late in her career to help many home bound patients driving to all parts of the valley to provide nursing and support for people in need. She slowed in late years with a stroke in 2002, but continued to enjoy life's little pleasures; growing her favorite tomato plant, baking oatmeal cookies or making the dog a special treat. Her love for life and gifts to the world will be dearly missed by all. She herself was a gift that cannot be replaced. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 17 at Messenger Indian Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd. Burial services will be at Green Acres Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road Scottsdale, AZ with Reception to follow. Contributions can be made to Phoenix Children's Hospital."1 She was buried at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale, Maricopa County, Arizona.1

Teegarden married Oliver Bird Wilhoit, son of Greenup Bird Wilhoit and Edith Grace Saxton, on 29 September 1934.1 Lucille T. Teegarden died on 1 November 1992 at Hamilton, Caldwell County, Missouri, at age 89.1 Her obituary read, "Lucille T. Wilhoit, 89, Hamilton, MO, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1992, at Hill Crest Manor. Born at Nettleton, MO, Mrs. Wilhoit lived in La Cygne, KS, after her marriage. She returned to Hamilton in 1971. She attended Central Missouri State University at Warrensburg for two years. She taught school in Hamilton from 1924 to 1934. Mrs. Wilhoit was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and Chapter N of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
In 1934, she married Oliver Wilhoit at Hamilton. He died in 1979.
Mrs. Wilhoit also was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Teegarden, Sr., and a sister, Bertha Schondelmaler. Additional survivors are two daughters, Carolyn Hill, Phoenix, AZ, and Barbara Sims, Hoisington, KS; two brothers, Charles Teegarden, Hamilton, and John Teegarden, Kidder, MO; a sister, Ellen Teegarden, Chillicothe, MO, and three grandchildren. Funeral service will be tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 5) at the Hamilton United Methodist Church) at the Hamilton United Methodist Church with burial in Highland Cemetery, also in Hamilton."2 She was buried at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton Township, Caldwell County, Missouri.2
