     John Bailey was born on 24 March 1855 at Mill Run, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3 He was the son of James Riley Bailey and Mary Pauline "Polly" White.1 John Bailey married Ella G. Davis, daughter of Solomon Davis and Rebecca Dull.3 John Bailey died on 4 August 1916 at Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, at age 61.3 His obituary read, "John Bailey, 61 years old, a resident of Connellsville for the past 22 years, died at his home in Queen street yesterday afternoon at 3.30. He had been ill for the past two years, and confined to his home for several months past. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock from the First Baptist Church. Rev. Wilbur Nelson, the pastor, will officiate. Interment will be made in Hill Grove cemetery. Mr. Bailey was born in Mill Run, the son of James R. and Polly White Bailey. About 22 years ago he came to Connellsville and entered the employ of Dull & Company, with whom he remained until forced to give up active work on account of failing health. He married Miss Ella G. Davis, who died 13 years ago. Mr. Bailey is survived by two children, Charles G. Bailey and Miss Lulu Bailey. He was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church and took a very active interest in its affairs."3 He was buried at Hill Grove Cemetery, Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.3
