Eugene Guy Messecar1

     Eugene Guy Messecar was born on 7 June 1883 at Wymore, Gage County, Nebraska.2 He was the son of Albert Messecar and Nettie Cornwell.2 Eugene Guy Messecar married Susan Margaret Burgess, daughter of Samuel Still Burgess and Sarah Lucinda Teegarden, on 18 September 1904 at Waukomis, Garfield County, Oklahoma.2 Eugene Guy Messecar died on 5 March 1938 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, at age 54.2 His obituary read, "Eugene Messecar, 54, Ripley hardware merchant, died Saturday, Mar 5, 1938 at St. Anthony's hospital, Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon 2 o'clock at Ripley, the Rev. Dallas Mead officiating.
Interment will be in Fairlawn cemetery here under the direction of Vincent Funeral home. Eugene Messecar was born in Wymore, Neb., on June 7, 1883, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Messecar. He was married at Waukomis on September 18, 1904, to Sue Burgess who survives him. When a small boy he moved to Missouri with his parents, and later to Kansas where he lived for 15 years before moving to Ripley in March of 1908. He was a member of the Methodist church. Eugene Messecar had been in the hardware business with his brother, C.G. Messecar, in Ripley for thirty years. Besides his wife, deceased is survived by one son, Earl Messecar, of Drumright; one daughter Hazel Messecar, Oklahoma City; two brothers, E.C. Messecar, Ripley; Willie Messecar, Anaheim, Calif; three sisters Mrs. Daisy Riddle and Mrs. Mary Bond, both of Oklahoma City; and Mrs. Mabel Goom, Ripley."2

     Earl Guy Messecar was born on 28 July 1905 at Pawnee County, Oklahoma.2 He was the son of Eugene Guy Messecar and Susan Margaret Burgess.1 Earl Guy Messecar married Rachel Virginia Putnam, daughter of John Ezekiel Putnam and Sarah Elizabeth Grimes, on 30 May 1936 at Drumright, Oklahoma.3 Earl Guy Messecar died on 22 September 1956 at Monette, Missouri, at age 51.3 His obituary read, "Services will be held at 4:30 pm, Tuesday in Strode chapel for Earl Guy Messecar, 51, implement salesman and son of Stillwater resident, of Fairview MO, who died Saturday at Monette, MO. Interment will be in Fairlawn cemetery. Earl Guy Messecar, was born on July 28, 1905, in Pawnee county, son of Gene and Sue Messecar. He was married on May 30, 1936 to Rachel Putnam in Drumright. Following their marriage they lived in Drumright, Ripley, in California, Texas and finally in Missouri since 1953. He was a member of the Ripley Methodist church, a 32d Degree Mason and member of the shrine in Tulsa. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sue Messecar, 316 N. Duncan and by a sister, Mrs. Hazel Harris, of Oklahama City."3
