Oesterling, 82, of 335 Center Drive in Oakland Township died at 4:45 a.m. today at Sunnyview Nursing Home. Born in Butler, Nov. 30, 1922, she was the daughter of John and Emma Hutchens Covert. She was a homemaker and had worked in the dietary department at Butler Memorial Hospital for 16 years. Mrs. Oesterling was a member of the North Butler Presbyterian Church and the Moraine Blazing Star Campers. She is survived by her husband, Loyal G. Oesterling, whom she married March 29, 1946; a daughter; a son; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A sister; a brother; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

     Loyal Graham Oesterling was born on 3 July 1919 at Oakland Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.^1,2 He was the son of Lee Floyd Oesterling and Iva Mae Graham.^1,2 Loyal Graham Oesterling married Eleanor Margaret Covert, daughter of John Henry Covert and Emma Opal Hutchens, on 29 March 1946 at North Butler Presbyterian Church, Oakland Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.^1,2 Loyal Graham Oesterling died on 21 December 2013 at Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania, at age 94.³ He His obituary read, "Loyal Graham "Red" Oesterling, 94, of Chicora, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 21, 2013 at 3:50 a.m. at the VNA Inpatient Hospice. He was born July 3, 1919 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Lee Floyd Oesterling and Iva May (Graham) Oesterling. Mr. Oesterling was a veteran of the United States Army in World War II. He worked as an auto mechanic. Mr. Oesterling was a member of the VFW Post #249, Silver Sneakers and the Moraine Blazing Stars Chapter of Family Campers and RVers. Mr. Oesterling is survived by one son, John Lee Oesterling and his wife Rebecca of Butler, PA; one daughter, Sandra Kay Lintz and her husband Bob of Chicora, PA; seven grandchildren, Janet Greenley of Pittsburgh, PA, Kris-Ann Wilcox of Unalaska, AK, Marsha Blum of Butler, PA, Paula DeRunk of West Sunbury, PA, Ryan Oesterling of Ellwood City, PA, Jane Oesterling of Butler, PA and Sara Oesterling of Butler, PA; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Margaret (Covert) Oesterling, whom he married March 29, 1946, and who passed away January 19, 2005; one brother; and one sister. Friends will be received Monday, December 23, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, with Reverend Mary J. Kitchen of North Butler Presbyterian Church officiating.
