     Esther Pauline Richardson was born on 24 July 1892 at Sibley, Douglas County, Kansas.1,2 She was the daughter of William Clark Richardson and Clara Mabel McNees.1,2 Esther Pauline Richardson died on 13 September 1993 at Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, at age 101.3 Her obituary read, "Graveside services for Esther Pauline Richardson, 101, Lawrence, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Monday, Sept. 13, 1993, at Presbyterian Manor in Lawrence. She was born July 24, 1892, in Sibley in rural Douglas County, the daughter of William Clark Richardson and Clara Mabel McNees Richardson. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1910 and from Kansas University in 1914, with majors in home economics and English. From 1914 to 1917 she was a student dietitian in Boston at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, which was affiliated with Harvard Medical School. From 1917 to 1918, she served as a dietitian for the American Red Cross during World War I at three hospital hotels in Vittel, France. During that period, she was inducted into the Army. In 1919, she worked in the dietary department at Naval Hospital in Bremerton, Wash. From 1920 to 1924, she was assistant dietitian at the Peking Union Medical College in Peking, China. The hospital was supported by the China Medical Board of the Rockefeller Foundation. From 1925 to 1929, she did infant welfare work in Chicago. From 1929 to 1946, she was a dietitian for Jane C. Stormont Hospital in Topeka. In 1948, she retired and returned to Lawrence to take care of her ailing father. Survivors include three nieces and a nephew.4 She was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas.4
