     Patricia Ann Sowash was born on 6 October 1935 at Sharon, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.2,3 She was the daughter of Cecil Edward Sowash and Edythe Elaine Werts.1 Patricia Ann Sowash married Albern Marshall Potter Jr., son of Albern Marshall Potter and Phyllis M. Campbell, on 23 November 1968.3 Patricia Ann Sowash died on 4 February 2011 at Greenville, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, at age 75.3 Her obituary read, "A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday for Patricia "Pat" Sowash Potter of 614 Main St., Jamestown. She passed away at 9:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 75. Mrs. Potter was born Oct. 6, 1935, in Sharon to C. Edward Sowash and Edythe Werts Sowash. A Navy veteran, Patricia was a nurse for 11 years, having served from 1958-69. During her tour of duty, Mrs. Potter achieved a rank of lieutenant commander (LCDR) during the Vietnam conflict. From 1956-58, she worked at the former Greenville Hospital. As she raised her children, she owned a ceramic shop. She made dolls, sewed clothing and taught others her skills. Pat was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Jamestown. As a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5424, Jamestown, Mrs. Potter joined in 1978 and was dedicated to all VFW programs and the educational value it brought to children and others. In 1989, she became the first woman elected as a state-level officer and, in 1994, was elected surgeon general of the VFW. In 1995, she received the Pennsylvania Commendation Medal from Gov. Tom Ridge for service as the state surgeon and as a member of the Governor's Advisory Council for Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. She also belonged to the American Legion, AMVETS, the Navy Nurse Corps Association and the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 5424. Her husband, Albern M. Potter Jr., whom she married Nov. 23, 1968, passed away July 9, 2004. Surviving are: two daughters, Edythe, wife of Mark Brooks, Partlow, Va; and Alyce Gatts, Conneaut Lake; a son, Albern M. "Bud" Potter III, husband of Jodi, Jamestown; a sister-in-law, Kitty, widow of Bill Sowash, Greenville; six grandchildren; and numerous foster sisters and brothers. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Scholarship Fund, Box 464, Jamestown, PA 16134."3 She was buried at Rocky Glen Cemetery, West Fallowfield Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.3

     Stella LaBarr Hibler was born on 11 June 1916 at Hubbard, Trumbull County, Ohio.2,3,4 She was the daughter of Ralph Eugene Hibler and Mary Julia Sowash.1 Stella LaBarr Hibler married Edward Russell Hacker, son of Alfred Arthur Hacker and Mary Ellen Turner, on 4 June 1938.1 Stella LaBarr Hibler died on 1 March 2014 at age 97.4 Her obituary read, "Stella L. Hacker, 97, passed into eternal sleep at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at home, following an extended illness. She was born at home in Hubbard on June 11, 1916, a daughter to Ralph E. and Mary J. (Sowash) Hibler, the third of six children welcomed to this union. Stella graduated from Sharon High School in 1934, and met her love when her future sister-in-law, Katherine introduced her to her handsome brother, Russell E. Hacker. They married on June 4, 1938 and together started a family. She was very active in her day, raising a family and belonging to the Brookfield Township, Trumbull and Mercer County Ladies Auxiliary of each respective Fire Department. She had also participated in various card clubs and bowling leagues. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, baking pies, especially cherry pies, dancing, playing piano, and she was an avid puzzle solver. Survivors include her children, Dr. Delores A. Uber of Hubbard, Judith K. Hacker, her caregiver, and with whom she lived, Joyce E. Page and her husband, Robert, Coral Springs, Fla., Kenneth R. Hacker of Phoenix, Ted Hacker and his wife, Janey of Dayton, and Don A. Hacker and his wife, Jerilyn of Hubbard; her 15 grandchildren; her 20 great-grandchildren; and her two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sweetheart and husband, who passed July 18, 2000; her grandsons, Brian P. Hacker and Jeffrey L. Page; her brothers, Thomas "Buck," Raymond, and Leland Hibler; and her sisters, Sylvia Bartolomew and Grace Hibler. She will be laid to rest at Brookfield Township Cemetery next to her Russell."4
